I am a potential consumer of a certain product or service. First of all, I go online and start a search for the necessary product or service. I get a list of links and look through them. Here are two extreme situations that are actually observed today:
• Brief information about the product or service, no price, contact phone or email address for the order. I call the company, they connect me with a specialist. We discuss the necessary parameters, after which I am interested in the price. Switch to a sales department or something similar, it turns out that the price is great for me. Is there a different price range? There is, but the parameters must again be discussed with a specialist … And so in a circle. In the end, the choice has been made, but in the registration department they are “pleased” that now there is no product or the service is temporarily not provided. It becomes very sad!
• A detailed description of goods and services, configuration options, delivery conditions, prices, comparison with analogues, etc. I can easily make up some compromises that are interesting to me in terms of price and parameters, and then discuss them over the phone with a specialist company. The proposed solutions with full specifications will be sent to me electronically.
A rhetorical question: with whom will I work and who will I advise friends or acquaintances? I would advise, but how it might look – “I worked with ABC – excellent service. Their ABC address is either NAROD.RU or RAMBLER.RU, maybe TUT. BY … In general, look! ” Much easier if ABC.BY. In addition, reliable and prestigious – the company is stable, open, if it has its own name on the Internet.
Well, now we will take the place of these firms. In both cases, IT technology is used. What is most interesting, the second option will not cost much more. Yes, at first you will pay more, but you don’t have to keep a person who will regularly change information on the site. Just instead of changing the static information on your site every day, you just need to link it to your real databases of goods or services, the availability of goods in stock, standard costing, etc. Real information from your databases will be displayed on any request. The main thing is to have these very databases, that is, to use modern technologies within the enterprise.
Now for the names. Contact the company that provides the so-called domain names on the Internet, and conclude a contract for the maintenance of this name. It can be your provider, or it can be any other company. Actually the site can be physically located anywhere in the world. The one who will service your name will always provide a link to it.
Now a little about technology within the enterprise.
Obviously, you have computers, and they are even networked — today you can’t do without it. But how to use it? It is obvious that internal automation should be based, as far as possible, on a single complex, such as 1C: Bookkeeping, 1C: Warehouse, 1C: Enterprise, etc. Much easier and cheaper will be solved how issues of interaction between your services based on paperless technologies within the network, so and information security issues. Well and, naturally, publishing information on the Internet on your site.
Analyze information flows at your enterprise: computer, paper, telephone. How do your employees work today? On the basis of “shared”, that is, common to all folders on your PC, or is access to folders differentiated by rights for different users? We place the information in a folder and call employees to watch? We carry a draft document for approval at the office?
But you can install your own email server and provide all employees with an email address. Distribute documents individually or to groups of employees. Send the document for approval “along the route”, that is, indicating the order of automatic forwarding after the next employee has reviewed the document and made its changes. You will receive a document back and see the personalized comments of each employee. Send a read notification letter and you will know the time when it was read.
Your server is your post office. Each time you forward letters within the enterprise, the traffic does not go beyond your network, that is, it is free. You can configure your mail to receive a message on the screen as soon as you receive a letter. And this is also free, while using someone else’s server, you are forced to regularly review your mail and pay for it, even if there are no letters. And the difference in relations with partners, when you answer their letters in a minute or once a day? After all, it also costs a lot.

In order to effectively use the funds that have already been invested in IT technologies at your enterprise and not keep up with current trends, it will be optimal to conduct an audit of the information network and systems at the enterprise once a year.
