How to create a blog on the platform WordPress?
Many of you have probably heard about the free WordPress platform. Perhaps they even tried to create a blog on this “engine”, but, frightened by the difficulties with installation and configuration, they decided to abandon this idea. In vain, dealing with this platform is pretty simple, which I’m going to prove to you. But first, I offer you my story of acquaintance with WordPress. Before opening my blog, I also wondered: where and how to do it? After a long study of the market, I settled on the WordPress platform on paid hosting. I must admit, at first there were many difficulties and obstacles: lack of programming experience, lack of time, work, vacation, etc. But now everything has fallen into place, a normal work process is going on, which I am incredibly happy about. And I do not regret that my choice fell on WordPress. I’m satisfied with the engine, moreover: the developers do not cease to amaze with new, convenient lotions in the admin panel, which appear in almost every update of the engine. An update comes out about once a month. mytarget As for the admin panel, everything is done conveniently and clearly, you will not need a lot of time and great mental effort to master its capabilities. Having no basic knowledge in html, you will be able to cope with the basic functions of the engine: create categories and pages, insert images, audio and video files, and most importantly – publish your articles. After all, this is the main task of any blog. Believe me, because you do not use the functionality to the fullest, nobody will blame you. Interesting and useful content will fill your programming gaps. Although I will not hide, in the formation of the blog questions will arise at regular intervals. This is normal. This should not frighten you, much less stop you, because, as you know, any beginning is difficult. In addition, you can find answers to most of them on the Russian WordPress user support forum. If you still can’t find the answer to your question, and this can happen if you want to expand the capabilities of your blog, then you will have to ask programmers for help. This can be done on the sites of freelancers, which abound in RuNet. Your problem can be solved in just 3-10 dollars. Well, more often than not, functionality issues can be closed by installing one or another plugin. A plugin is an independently compiled software module that is dynamically connected to the main program (in this case, WordPress), designed to expand and / or use its capabilities. Currently, there are more than 9000 plugins for WordPress, most of which can be downloaded from the Russian WordPress support site. It is easy to conclude that to solve almost any task on the blog there is a plug-in. Installing and activating them is very simple. Although some plugins require knowledge of the same html to configure. To protect myself from unnecessary expenses, I recommend that you study at least its basics. It takes no more than a week of your precious time. As a result, you will receive knowledge that will untie your hands and facilitate work. So, are you ready to create your own offline blog? Yes! Then go ahead! First you need to choose a domain name and hosting for your future blog. Then you can proceed to the upload process to the server engine WordPress. You can download the latest version of this CMS on the Russian WordPress support site. After you have downloaded the WordPress archive, you need to do a number of the following: 1. Unzip the archive into a separate folder. 2. Open the wp-config-sample.php file with a text editor, for example, Notepad ++. It can be downloaded on the Internet, in the public domain. Do not use a simple Notepad for this! Fill in the data to connect to the MySQL database. You can get them from your hoster. Change the file name to wp-config.php and save it in the same directory. 3. Set up an FTP connection with your virtual server (this is the disk space provided by the hosting company). How to do it? This will require any file manager, for example, Total Commander. Open the program and go to the tab “Connect to FTP server …” Next, click the “Add” button. The “Configure FTP Connection” window opens, where you need to enter the following: Title: any value that you understand. Server name: you will find it in the admin panel of your hosting. Account and password: this is the data that you used to register your account on the hosting. Nothing more to fill out! Click OK. 4. In the “Connect to:” window, the title of your FTP connection appears. Select it, click on the “Connect” button. Then you will go to the server, unless of course you have Internet access. We find the folder “Public_html”, open it and fill in the contents of the unpacked archive. 5. In the browser, open your blog_domain / wp-admin / install.php. This should set up the tables needed for the blog.
